Mixed band sampler embroidered with polychrome silks, with cut and drawn work, hollie point and needle lace filling. The design is a combination of embroidered flowers and an alphabet and bands of all over needlework.
Linen mixed band sampler embroidered with polychrome silks in running, double running, cross, Montenegrin cross and with some speckling stitch. Linen thread is worked in double hem, counted satin, and square filling stitch with buttonhole bars, pulled work, cut and drawn work with hollie point and needle lace filing stitches. Silver metal thread is worked in interlacing and braiding stitches, cross-stitch, laid and couched work, and needle woven bosses. The edges are hemmed and there is a selvedge at the bottom. The three embroidery techniques, coloured, white and metal thread work is arranged in three distinct bands. The most distinctive features are the panels of metal thread work and all-over patterns. The inscription 'IC' is worked in cross-stitch in silver metal thread. The coloured embroidery includes an alphabet band and initials 'IC'. This section also includes a sunflower and arcaded design.
