Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in buttonhole, double back, eyelet hole, Holbein and satin stitch. The sampler comprises eleven horizontal bands separated by narrow repeat border designs. The top ten bands are made up of repeat border patterns; band eleven contains the date ' April 24 1704' and, initials 'MY EG' and a short length of repeat border design.
