Description

Cotton motif sampler linen with cotton and embroidered with blue and red cotton thread in cross-stitch. The sampler is made in the form of a pocket. The back is plain whilst the front is decorated with a balanced arrangement of detached motifs, flowerpots, sprays, crowns, hearts and two wreaths enclosing the inscriptions, to the left 'Prepare/to meet/thy god' and to the right 'Sarah/Roberts/1844'.
