Sampler, coarse linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, back, double hem, hem and satin stitch. There are two rows of double hemstitch at the top and bottom of the canvas. The sampler features an alphabet in eyelet hole and satin stitch. Below this small, detached motifs are worked including a ship with a crew of eight, two anchors and a boat, trees a woman spinning and a peacock.
