Description

Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross-stitch. The sampler is divided into horizontal bands .The top ones feature an alphabet, the name 'Catharina Elisabeth Ewersten'. the remainder of the sampler is covered evenly with about 15 detached designs including a flower pot, a towered building, crowns, flowers and a lion. the sampler also includes the inscriptions 'MIR MIR SOLA' and 'EIN DER FRIEDE'.
