Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross and hem stitch. The edges are hem stitched. The sampler comprises 12 horizontal bands which feature narrow repeat border patterns, alphabets, numerals, line edging, crowns, coronets, detached designs (birds, flowers in pot, sprigs, key, padlock, table and chairs), 12 sets of initials and a wreath containing the initials 'SRS'.
