Description

Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in satin, cross, double running, eyelet, fagot and straight stitch. There is a selvedge on both sides and the top and bottom are turned under and hem stitched. A central motif of a flower pot with a pierced heart and vase of flowers is framed on either side by a small border and the inscription 'DE LAMANO DE PEPA GONZALES SYENDD MY MAESTRA I MARIA GONZALES' and the monogram of the Virgin Mary. Repeat border patterns and some detached sprays and sprigs surround the central design.
