Picture with cream canvas worked with polychrome silks in Florentine stitch.
The design is outlined in black ink and is part of a larger composition representing the judgement of Paris; only part of the sky, columns and the foreground have been worked. Above Paris we see a hand with a thunderbolt, at her feet a peacock; Minerva is placed in the centre with her spears on the ground, on the right sits Venus in the clouds in a chariot of doves, to her right sits Cupid with a serpent and two hearts, one transfixed with arrows the other burning. Above the clouds sits Mercury.
