Factory: Wedgwood & Bentley
Black basalt. Oviform with curved neck and two reeded handles, standing on square plinth. The vase is decorated on the neck with engine-turned stripes, with swags of drapery looped up to rings applied in relief, and with an applied oval medallion on one side. On B the medallion is of Apollo and Marsyas. The plinth is decorated with narrow panels containing oval depressions linked by straps over darts. The parts are held together by a rod and nut.
