Production date: circa AD 1943 : Holloway met Daisy Hawkins in 1943 at the guesthouse run by Eric Gill's daughter, Betty, where he had gone to recuperate from an illness; they married six weeks later. According to Holloway (see letter in file), this drawing was made a few months after their marriage in 1943, when they rented a farmhouse half a mile off the road in the Black Mountains near Capel-y-ffin. Daisy Monica (?) was one of Eric Gill's favourite models. She died in 1979.
