See 'Our People' (1881) p.22. The caption printed with the cartoon read: 'Irascible Old Gent. "Waiter! This Plate is quite Cold!" / Waiter. "Yessir, but the Chop is 'ot, Sir, which I think you'll find it'll Warm up the Plate nicely, Sir!"'
