Folding fan of doubled leafed paper. Painted with a copy of a late baroque painting, and two oval cartouches with putti. Carved sticks of mother-of-pearl, the guards also carved and backed with 'goldfish' pearl.
History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); his daughter Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)
