Description

Folding neo-classical fan, of double "chickenskin". Painted with scenes of Tavanto, Calabria, and Naples.
Chinese ivory sticks, shaped and pierced in patterns. Carved ivory guards.

History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); his daughter Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)
