Folding fan of double "chickenskin" painted in gouache. Depicting two peasants by a classical building, and on the reverse are two peasants in an oval cartouche.
Sticks and guards of plain tortoise shell.

History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); his daughter Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)
