Folding fan of silk, double leaf. With central applied coloured mezzotint, surrounded by gold beads and sequins, with further gold bead and sequin embroidery.
Sticks of pierced and gilded mother-of-pearl, guards of pierced and gilt mother-of-pearl and ivory, backed with mother-of-pearl.
History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); his daughter Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)
