"First printed for his seventieth birthday by his friends SM, BC, VR, DC, RS, JD, 12 May 1961." The initials are those of Stanley Morison, Brooke Crutchley, Vivian Ridler, Douglas Cleverdon, Reynolds Stone, and John Dreyfus. Cf. Ridler. Printed on double leaves. "50 copies printed"--Colophon. Inscription on front endpage: "For John: a gift regiven, gratefully Francis 12 May 1961. This is not a correction but a late addition, to come after the ninth verse of Hereditment [4 lines of verse follow]". In gilt paper cover with paper label on front cover bearing the name "Francis Meynell" within an ornamental border. In slipcase covered in red cloth.
