Description

Sticks: mottled whole bamboo, with white glass finial. Ribs: very thin cane. Face: silk, torn, painted in ink and translucent watercolours; the edge is lacquered in black. Decorated with a scene of conflict between mountain dwelling Buddhist Guardian figures and water spirits, with two human figures standing by the shore near an arch inscribed 'Jinshan' (Gold Mountain). The water spirits bearing a pennant inscrobed: 'Baiyunxian(?) (White Cloud spirit?).
