Wrapper printed and decorated with peacock feathers and a peony. Paper, printed in polychrome from woodblocks.


History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); his daughter Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)

The wrapper is certainly for this type of fan, but seems to wide for this particular example, and may be of a slightly earlier date.
