Fixed fan, decorated with "Wayang" shadow puppet. The handle formed as a pair of entwined snakes. Face: buffalo hide, pierced and painted in black, brown, white and gold. The handle: buffalo horn, carved and incised.


History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)
