Imprint from colophon; "R. H." is identified by STC as Richard Haydocke.
The second to fifth books share separate pagination and signatures to first book. With illustrations showing the proportions of human beings and horses and a final colophon leaf. STC(2) 16698
Museum copy has a facsimile of the engraved title page and lacks last leaf with colophon.
Head and tail pieces; initials and printed marginalia.
A translation of books 1-5 of "Trattato dell'arte de la pittura, scultura, et architettura" by Richard Haydocke who signs the dedication.
Provenance: Inscription - "Gilbert R. Redgrave, Muswell Hill 1885"; also with his bookplate.
