Stoneware, thrown in two parts, with semi-matt manganese-black slip, with a slightly rough surface and some pin holes The pot has a cylindrical stem supporting a hollow spade form, with an indented horizontal line running round it about 2.2 cm from the top and overlapping to form two lines on one side

Relative size of this object is displayed using code inspired by Good Form and Spectacle's work on the British Museum's Waddeson Bequest website and their dimension drawer. They chose a tennis ball to represent a universally sized object, from which you could envisage the size of an object.
