Description

Hard-paste porcelain, thrown in two parts, and painted underglaze in blue. The glaze is good but quite close to Ying-qing. Circular bowl with curved sides, supported on a cylindrical foot. The stem is horizontally ridged. The bowl is decorated inside in the centre with a peony spray and a classic cloud scroll inside the lip. The outside is also decorated with a peony spray.

The stem cup came with a modern square box, covered with thin blue linen outside and lined with imperial yellow silk inside.
