Clear and garnet pastes set in silver, surrounding a painted enamel plaque of a buck in a landscape with a scroll above, inscribed 'HONOUR THE REWARD OF VIRTUE'. In the shape of a sun with rays, surmounted by a crown. On the back, a gilt metal plaque, inscribed 'MACKAY.GRAND./1780/ROYAL MECKLENBURGH LODGE' and engraved with a fist holding a dagger and the motto 'MANU FORTI' on a scroll above. At the top, a loop and ring for suspension.
