Factory: Wedgwood
White earthenware with very pale blue glaze (pearlware), transfer-printed in ochre-yellow, painted underglaze in blue, overglaze in red enamel, and gold. The cup is cylindrical with a loop handle. The saucer circular with deep curved sides, and flat centre, very slightly recessed underneath. Decorated with Japan pattern no. 2. The can is decorated on both sides with a large spray with a smaller spray above, and with a branch down the back of the handle. Round the rim there is a border of striped triangles with red and yellow half flowers at intervals. There is a bold band round the rim and down the edges of the handles. The saucer is decorated en suite with a central floral arrangement and three sprays on the sides.
