White earthenware (pearl body), transfer-printed in dark ochre-yellow, painted underglaze in blue, overglaze in red and yellow enamels, and gilt. Circular with sloping rim, shallow curved well and flat centre. Decorated with a central Japan pattern of stylised flowers and foliage, three sprays on the rim, and round the edge, a border of hatched triangles and red and yellow, and yellow, half flowers at intervals.
