Description

Pewter tankard. With flat lid, ramshorn, and scrolled thumbspiece. The handle has the roughly engraved initials 'F W M'.
Hallmarked on the lid with a rose. On the inside of the base, is an unclear ? EA in lozenge

There are doubts of authenticity, regarding the lid and thumbpiece

Notes

History note: The item was acquired in 1902 by the Birmingham Assay (?) Office, for 2 guineas, from D. McMichael. They gave it to de Navarro in exchange for a candlestick A.F. de Navarro Collection
