  • Text: The tear crossing / the cheek is a very bad / one. This backing should / be removed on taking / off the old one. I discovered / that the head by scraping / had been torn out(underlined) and / backed up. I removed the / old back which was / very badly laid and put / on the present one. / C.F. Murray. April 27. 1893. / The light / space at the / side shows where the / old backing came. The / paper round it / is very dirty.
