Description

Copper alloy, probably bronze, cast. The nymph is seated with her left leg extended. Her right arm is raised and bent at the elbow, and she rests her head on her right hand. Her left hand rests between her thighs. The bronze is supported by a shallow circular marble plinth attached to a rectangular dark green veined marble plinth.

History note: Alfred Spero, London; sold 19 November 1937 (£300) to Lt Col the Hon. M.T. Boscawen, DSO, MC; bequeathed to his sister, the Hon. Mrs Pamela Sherek; bequeathed by the Hon. Mrs Pamela Sherek, from the collection of the late Lt Col the Hon. M.T. Boscawen, DSO, MC, in his memory.
