Description

Silver; Neoclassical, corinthian capitals, oak leaf spiral round the column, urns and foliage on the square base.

Silver; stamped from sheet metal and filled with pitch or plaster of Paris; the base with a metal plug covered in green baize. The sconce formed as a Corinthian capital. The plain column is decorated with a spiral of oak leaves and acorns. The domed square base has two gadrooned borders above and below the four sides, three of which contain a Classical urn, the forth contains a vacant oval cartouche; the corners are decorated with scrolling foliage. The shaped square pull-off nozzles have a gadrooned border. (with MAR.M.22.2 & A-1912)
