White earthenware, moulded and decorated underglaze with a multicolour transfer print. Circular. On top of lid 'Pegwell Bay, S. Banger's Shop', inscribed 'PEGWELL BAY' and shop signs with 'S. BANGER/original/SHRIMP SAUCE/ Manufactory' and 'S.BANGER/Shrimp Sauce/Manufacture'; border of stylised flower heads and scallops filled with horizontal striations, between two black lines; black key plate. Interior printed in black 'S Banger/PEGWELL BAY/Nr RAMSGATE.' between two oval lines.
