Description

White earthenware, moulded, decorated with coloured transfer prints under a clear crazed glaze. Blue, yellow and red with a brown key plate. Circular with a sloping rim and flat central area. 'No! By Heaven', adapted from 'The Last Appeal' by Frank Stone, inscribed 'NO! BY HEAVEN, I EXCLAIM'D MAY I PERISH' and 'IF EVER I PLANT IN THAT BOSOM A THORN'. Encircled by a blue line under the lettering, a gilt line and narrow leaf and dart border; red enamel ground; gilt line on the edge of the rim.
