Rectangular, tortoise shell box; the lid with silver mount and thread piqué work vignette and motto 'ILS SONT UNIS MALGRE L'ENVI'
Tortoise shell with silver mount and inlaid thread piqué work. Rectangular with straight sides. The almost flat lid has a rim mount, moulded border and a projecting hinge. The top is decorated with a vignette of a snake held between two burning hearts flying above a house, fence and tree, above which is the motto 'ILS SONT UNIS MALGRE L'ENVI'.
