Description

White earthenware, moulded, decorated with coloured transfer prints under a slightly blue-green, finely crazed glaze. Blue, yellow and red with a brown key plate. Circular with a sloping rim and flat central area. 'The Truant', after Going to School by Thomas Webster, R.A., inscribed 'T. Webster 1834'. Encircled by a narrow border of conjoined bell flowers; outer oak leaf and acorn border on a grey-green ground. On the base, printed in brown 'THE TRUANT/BY/T WEBSTER'.
