Silver with tortoise shell lid and base; the lid inlaid with mother-of-pearl and engraved silver and brass. Oval with straight silver sides and projecting moulded edges and hinge. The top of the slightly convex lid is decorated with a vignette of a man playing a lute and a woman dancing.
