Description

Silver, cast, baluster shape embossed with scrolls, flowers and shells; with detachable nozzle (with MAR.M.10.2 & A-1912)

Silver; the urn-shaped sconce is on a hexagonal vase-shaped column over a circular knop. The shaped circular foot rises to a central dome. The whole cast candlestick is heavily chased with shells, flowers, scrolls and gadroons. The removable cast sconce has a border of scrolls and flowers.

Note

The nozzle and sconce have a small series of notches cut into the rim, so that they can remain together after cleaning. There were obviously four or more candlesticks, but this candlestick has three notches, whilst its nozzle has only two.
