Description

Wool, embroidered with polychrome silk threads with a repeat border of carnation and strawberry or bud motifs, upper and lower case alphabet, numerals, detached flowers, and other motifs, and a small amount of probably later stitching

Wool, embroidered with polychrome silk threads in cross stitch. Unfinished. Three examples of later random stitching in blank area of main field. Arcaded repeat pattern borders of carnation and bud or strawberry motifs. An upper case and a lower case alphabet, numerals from 1 to 17. Two flower pot and three animal motifs; one unfinished motif. Side edges turned and stitched; selvedge at top and bottom, double blue line.
