Description

Tile picture. Composed of sixteen square and twenty border tiles. Earthenware, tin-glazed pinkish-white on the upper surface and painted in manganese and blue. King William III wearing a crown, riding a horse prancing towards the left. His sash and the saddle-cloth are blue. In the foreground there are flowering plants and pebbles and in the background, clouds. At the top is an inscription: 'WILLIAM DE III KONING VAN. GROUT BRITANNIEN'. The border tiles are decorated with scrolling stems bearing foliage and formal flowers.
