Description

Silver; cinquefoil-shaped stand with five glass bottles with silver covers and three silver bottle tickets.

Silver; the cinquefoil base with gadrooned rim above vertical sides pierced with a geometric pattern of intersecting scrolls and leaves. The flat base stands on five cast openwork scroll feet. The five sided central devider is pierced with a geometric pattern, screwed to it is a tall cast handle with scalework sides surmounded by a central loop handle of asymetric scrolls. The front of the stand with applied rococo cartouche containing a crest of a boar's head. Five glass bottles with silver (unmarked) covers. Three of the bottles are baluster-shaped on a circular spreading foot; the largest with pierced cover (probably for sugar); the smaller pair with one pierced and one unpierced cover (probably for pepper and mustard). The other pair of bottles have straight sides and pull-off covers (probably for sauces). All are cut with a geometric pattern of hexagons. The three silver rococo revival bottle tickets are of aysemetric shape, with a border of scrolls, and are engraved ' SUGAR', 'CHILI' AND 'WORCESTER'.
