Description

Forward angled, double edged steel blade of flat section, with a low medial ridge running almost full length, with a raised triangular section at the forte. The original wooden hilt is long, of round section at the blade where it has copper alloy (brass) furniture, comprising a ferrule with extensions cut in lobes above below and at either side of the hilt, three moulded reinforcing bands and four domed star washers. The remainder of the hilt is faceted, and cut away at the underside leaving the pommel section proud to form a grip. At either side of the pommel is a circular recess for an inlaid sun. There is a large chip out of the straight (front) edge of the blade. A pair to O.60-1879
