Description

The blade is single edged and curved, with a flat back and a hollow ground. At the forte is a lotus bud-shaped reinforce. The hilt is also of steel, with a beaked pommel and waisted grip with a slight step, completely plain, formed of three pieces brazed together and to the tang. At the end is a small tang button

Note

An unusual combination of khanjar-like and peshqabz-like features on this series of daggers, which Taylor’s list shows are from the south. Nothing comparable was found by Elgood (see documentation 2004). Not a Khyber knife as per the museum catalogue slips, which is 75; these two have probably switched numbers
