The iron blade is crescent shaped with a deep central dip, and forged with a narrow but solid socket for the haft. It is decorated with incised lines, a band of punched crescents, a W in double incised lines and a panel of geometrical ornament at the socket. The haft is of wood, tapering above the blade to a blunt point where a top spike was originally fitted
