Taylor’s list shows this is from the south ‘131–151 from Ganjam’. It is unclear whether the blade was originally fitted with a conventional khanjarli hilt or whether this parrot-headed hilt was a later replacement (stylistically the grip and pommel appear to be 19th century) or whether the dagger was originally designed this way, in which case the whole piece should be dated to the 19th century.
