Description

Silver and silver-gilt; the pricket candlestick embossed and chased with cherubs, gadroons and foliage.

Silver and silver-gilt; only the pricket and drip pan are silver-gilt. Thse are supported on a bell-shaped sconce, which is embossed and chased with a border of gadroons and leaves. The stem comprises two balusters - one inverted - each with a plain knop at the outer end and an acanthus leaf embossed inner end, meeting in a flattened gadroon and leaf embossed and chased knop. The bell-shaped foot is embossed and chased with a border of swags, leaves and ribbons above three winged cherubs with vacant cartouches between. The three ball feet are each surmounted by a claw with leaf capital. (with MAR.M.76B-1912)
