Description

Butt spike for a spear. Comprising a short round-section spike steel, decorated with sa spiral in triple incised lines, and broken off at about its mid pint, and large fluted double knops and socket divided into transverse bands separated by raised ribs, both of copper alloy. At the top is a cog-like rim of iron. The brass is dented and patinated where it is not polished bright
