Description

Dish with peony design. Stoneware, moulded and celadon-glazed. This dish (chopsi) has a flat lobed rim suggesting a floral shape. It is finely moulded in relief with a large peony blossom in the centre and a peony scroll round the sides. The pale bluish-green glaze has a subtle gloss. The flat base is glazed and has small quartzite spur-marks.
