Description

Bowl with lotus petals. Stoneware, thrown, carved, incised and celadon-glazed. This typical Koryo bowl is of deep form, with a slightly incurved mouth and a fairly high foot with low footring. The centre of the bowl is recessed and the outside is decorated with an incised band of key-fret below the rim and with two rows of lotus petals in carved relief with incised outlines and scroll motifs. The glaze is evenly applied, of pale bluish-green, and with a net-like crackle. The base shows three quartzite spur-marks.
