Description

The steel blade is small, single edged and bearded, with a flat square back. It is covered with koftgari silver and partly gilt foil punched with geometrical ornament. The haft is of faceted dark wood with a gilt copper alloy ferrule, medial band and terminal, the latter with a double knop finial, the end fittings punched with floral ornament on a stippled ground, the middle one with bands of geometrical ornament. At the top is a screw which holds the head in place, and a gilt washer shaped like a lotus bud.
