Punhap
Pottery: Unknown (Probably)
Cosmetic box and cover with chrysanthemum design. Stoneware, moulded, inlaid in black and white slip, and celadon glazed. This small flat box has on the cover an inlaid design in black and white slip in form of a six-pointed star with a chrysanthemum in the centre and others around it, enclosed by a petal border. Around the sides of both box and cover are bands of small rings and the underside of the box is decorated with a white zigzag-diaper border. The olive-green celadon glaze is evenly applied but full of bubbles. The glaze has been wiped from the rims of both parts, which were kept apart during firing by spurs; the base shows three quartzite spur-marks.
