Kirumbyong
Pottery: Unknown (Probably)
Oil bottle with peony design. Stoneware, thrown, inlaid in black and white slip, and celadon glazed. This oil bottle (kirumbyong) has a depressed body and an almost flat base. Three peony sprays are inlaid in black and white slip on the upper part. The whole piece is covered with a fairly dark glossy celadon glaze with a dense crackle, which has coagulated to a thick layer around the base. The base shows traces of four fire-clay supports.

Judging from the colour of its glaze, this bottle is probably a product of the Sadang-ri kilns, made in the first half of the thirteenth century.
