Description

Bust three quarter length head turned to right. Wearing lace cravat and St George. In an oval set on a tablet, on which hangs a sheet; 13 lines of French on the left, 10 lines of Latin on the right. On the oval: "A Paris chez P. Giffart graveur du Roy et des Academie Roy de la Peinture et Scuptre rue St Jacq. a l'image S.te Therese avec pr. de sa Mte."

History note: F.B. Daniell & Son sold to John Charrington [Lugt 572]; sold at his sale (Christie's) 19 June 1940, part of lot 74.
